Sarah Healy , an Irish athlete, made history at the Keely Klassic meeting in Birmingham on Saturday by shattering her own Irish indoor record in the 1,500m. Healy finished the race in a remarkable 4:01.61, a full two seconds faster than her previous record set last year. This impressive feat follows her recent string of successes, including two improvements on her 3,000m record over the past two weekends.

The race was a strategic battle between Healy and her training partner, Georgia Hunter Bell, who took the win in 4:00.63. Both athletes pulled away from the rest of the field, showcasing their exceptional talent and endurance. Healy's performance has propelled her to second place in Europe for both the 1,500m and 3,000m distances. At just 24 years old, she is poised to make a significant impact at the upcoming European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, next month.Meanwhile, in Boston at the Valentine's Meeting, Cian McPhillips delivered a strong performance, clocking the second-fastest Irish indoor 800m time with a second-place finish in 1:45.33. This marked a welcome return to top form for the 22-year-old athlete. Cormac Dalton also competed in Boston, achieving a time of 13:28.29 in the 5,000m, securing his place as the fourth-fastest Irish athlete on the indoor all-time list. Grant Fisher from the US stole the show with a world indoor record in the 5,000m, running an astonishing 12:44.09, breaking the previous record held by Kenenisa Bekele.Other notable performances included Rhasidat Adeleke, who competed in the 600m at the Clemson Collegiate meeting, finishing third in 1:30.30. Adeleke is focused on the 400m outdoors this summer and will continue to compete in select indoor races
