Mark Namegni passed away last week after a short cancer battle which he kept a secret from his family.

A doting dad died of cancer just months after feeling pain while playing football - after keeping the diagnosis a secret from family. Mark Namegni had complained to his wife of having a sore side during the kick about with his friends on August 8.

"He went to hospital to have it checked. When he got there they took an X-ray and they noticed some fluid and they removed the fluid with a syringe. "When I saw him I couldn't recognise him, he lost so much weight. I started crying and asking what happened. He said he wasn't well but that he was going to be ok.

Mark has three children - a three-year-old and twins who turned two just days before he passed away. Nathalie, 32, said: "The doctor told me that Mark had lung cancer. He explained to me that he didn't want me to worry about it, that's why he hid it.
