Shawfield Stadium in Rutherglen is facing demolition after plans were submitted to turn the site into a mixed-use neighbourhood with new homes, a hotel, and shops.
A Lanarkshire greyhound stadium dating back 125 years could be demolished and turned into homes, a hotel, and shops under new plans.
The proposal explains: "Part of the wider Clyde Gateway masterplan, this mixed-use neighbourhood continues the regeneration of the area, delivering much-needed new homes and commercial uses, breathing new life into the area. "This proposed highly-sustainable development will, if consented, deliver considerable investment and employment opportunities for the Shawfield area."
