An American woman who was found chained to a tree in a forest in India has alleged she was tied to it by her husband who left her there.

Ms Kumar, 50, also said she would require food through an intravenous drip. It said: "Injection for extreme psychosis which caused a severely locked jaw and inability to drink any water. Need intravenous food. 40 days without food and water. Husband tied me to a tree in the forest and said I would die there.” "The woman is weak as she has not eaten anything for a couple of days and also as the area experienced heavy rains," a Maharashtra police said according to India TV News. Investigators are now looking for her husband, according to further reports. Police are also trying to trace Ms Kumar’s relatives in India.
