The Sony LinkBuds Fit are designed for comfort and powerful sound, aimed at fitness enthusiasts.
Sony has launched a new set of earphones, the LinkBuds Fit, designed for comfort and powerful sound, aimed at fitness enthusiasts. Sony has long been at the forefront of innovative active noise cancellation (ANC) headphones and earphones, but faces increasing competition from brands like Nothing, Google, and Samsung. The LinkBuds range debuted in 2022 with the unique, open, doughnut-shaped LinkBuds, which were perhaps a bit ahead of their time.
They were followed by the more traditional LinkBuds S, offering near flagship-level audio and ANC for under €200. The newest iteration, LinkBuds Fit, features sleek, rounded buds with a silicon upper layer for a comfortable and secure fit. These earbuds are designed to stay put during your daily activities and workouts, thanks to in-ear hooks similar to the Beats Fit Pro. These hooks, combined with silicone ear tips, help ensure a secure fit. The LinkBuds Fit boasts an IPX4 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for splashes and sweat. The charging case features a matte bottom and a glossy marble finish on top. My review unit was white, but various color options are available.Audio quality is impressive for the price, as is the level of ANC. While it doesn't quite reach the high standard of Sony's WF1000xM5, it's still effective. An ambient sound mode is also included, though not as refined as Apple's Transparency Mode, but it's functional. Music enthusiasts will appreciate the support for the high-quality LDAC audio codec, alongside the standard AAC and SBC codecs. Sony's revamped Sound Connect app offers a wealth of features and customization options, making it stand out. You can update firmware, adjust the EQ, and even initialize 360-degree audio. The buds utilize sensors to register head taps instead of direct bud touches. Battery life is 5.5 hours with ANC enabled and eight hours with ANC switched off.Sony LinkBuds Fit earns high marks for design and comfort, and delivers pleasing sound quality, noise cancellation, and Transparency Mode.
