Spanish football player Olga Carmon should have been celebrating one of the biggest days of her life, after her goal against England secured her team as the winners of the World Cup
Olga Carmona took the Spanish women's football team to victory in the nail-biting final of FIFA Women's World Cup on Sunday, but just after the match, she was informed that her father, Jose Verdasco, had died.
But heartbreak was to come for the football star, as it was confirmed by the Royal Spanish Football Federation that Carmona had been told the devastating news that her father had died after the match. There was a very poignant reason for this, as Olga revealed after the match: "I dedicate my goal & this victory to my best friend, who recently lost her mother."Words of support for Olga have poured in from around the world, with many football fans rushing to Twitter.
