The countdown is on for Dublin 's massive St Patrick's Day parade, with hundreds of thousands of locals and tourists alike set to take to the streets of the capital on Monday.This year's theme is Eachtraí - the Irish word for adventures - which captures the legendary adventurous spirit that defines us as a nation.
Speaking in advance of the Festival opening, Lord Mayor of Dublin, Emma Blain said: "The National St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the most significant events in our city’s calendar. It’s an exciting celebration of Irish creativity, culture, and community. As my first St. Patrick’s Festival as Lord Mayor, I’m particularly looking forward to witnessing the vibrant pageantry and incredible talent that will bring Dublin’s streets to life this St. Patrick’s Day.
If you want a great view but a more relaxed vibe, the parade will go straight past one of the best pubs in Dublin in The Lord Edward. Last year, officers shared the useful map below showing the full route for the St Patrick's Day Parade. Areas within the outline around the parade will be closed to traffic.
