Drogheda St Patrick's Day parade organisers say Irish dancers must keep moving
Organisers of the St Patrick’s Day festivities in Drogheda have said that Irish dancers can perform as long as they keep moving.Dancers and gymnast stopping to perform for the crowds during the parade has been deemed as “unsafe” by the gardai, according to a statement by the organisers.
“So we are appealing to groups to show themselves off, keep on marching, and ensure that the parade moves along smoothly together. Chairman of the Drogheda’s St Patrick’s Day parade, Anthony Lynch, said the dancers performing in front of the main stage would hold up the parade for those behind them.
