Five counties in Ireland have been issued a Status Yellow rain warning, with potential flooding and treacherous travel conditions. Heavy rain is expected across the Midlands, South, and East, while western coastal counties will experience drier weather.
Five counties have been hit with a Status Yellow rain warning for the whole of Monday as the country struggles to shake off the weekend showers, but warmer and drier weather is in store.
Monday will see heavy rain of up to 50mm across the Midlands, South and East with slightly cooler temperatures than the weekend. Weather expert Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather says the Storm Kathleen winds that ruled the weekend will die out on Monday. He wrote: "We are lucky to be missing most of the wind from the next low system tomorrow and the Southwest and West will escape most of the rain."
