Met Eireann are warning of “heavy thundery showers” and lightning as prolonged rain is expected to hit the country.
The national forecaster explained that Ireland should prepare for “warm and humid” conditions and “possible thundery showers” in their weather outlook. Thursday, 5 September Thursday will be a predominantly dry day with sunny spells across the western half of the country and somewhat cloudier skies elsewhere. During the evening showery rain will begin to feed into east and southeast areas. Highs of 17 to 20 degrees, warmest further west. Northeast winds will be mostly moderate in strength, strong at times along eastern coasts.
