The Taoiseach sent Mary Lou McDonald flowers as she recovered from a hysterectomy, the Sinn Féin leader has revealed.
In June, the Dublin Central TD posted on social media that she had undergone an operation and would be taking time off to recover.
“As a matter of fact, the Taoiseach sent me flowers - which I thought was very nice - and I had good wishes from people across the board.”The operation was carried out after doctors told Deputy McDonald they had discovered tumours and her womb and ovaries were removed via keyhole surgery.
