Sligo Rovers’ latest piece of business has manager John Russell feeling ‘excited’ for the future.
Sligo Rovers have tied down teenage forward Owen Elding to a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.
Rovers boss John Russell hailed the development, saying: “Owen has progressed really well over the last 12 months and we're delighted to reward him with a new deal. After brief spells at Cork City, Ballinamallard and Derry City, he returned to The Showgrounds before hanging up his boots. “It's a special feeling to be training day in, day out with the likes of Kyle McDonagh and Daire Patton who have come through the system with me and signed professional deals also.
