The award-winning Irish cream liqueur is produced in Ireland in small batches from single malt Irish whiskey, Belgian white chocolate, Madagascan vanilla and fresh Irish cream

When it comes to Irish Cream, Baileys is often the first name that comes to mind. However, a lesser-known competitor, Coole Swan, has been receiving high praise from Tesco shoppers and even impressed our Baileys-loving taste testers.

Whether you're planning to stock up for the festive season or enjoy this refreshing drink all year round, this is the lowest price we've seen so far, making it the perfect time to give it a try. “While I love Baileys, for me the taste comes in stages - you have the initial sweet scent and then the first hit of warmth when you swallow and then it's eased by the cream that extinguishes the fire. Coole Swan has all of the same elements but somehow they blend in a way where you get them all simultaneously - there's no fiery undertone and no sweet hit, it's just all beautifully, perfectly balanced from the first sip.

“But the fresh cream of Coole Swan is so fresh that once you’ve opened the bottle, you have to keep it in the fridge, unlike Baileys, whose makers recommend that it be kept in a dark cupboard after opening. Suddenly Irish cream is drinkable ice cold but cube free and, despite my long-time Baileys love, Coole Swan has found a place not just in my heart but also in my fridge.
