the flame-engulfed block alive, said he was determined to remain optimistic but he admitted he was torn. He added that his heart raced as he returned to the site of the blaze this week: “Towards this time of the year there is always a lot of sadness. I hadn’t been there for some time and as I was approaching and walking towards the tower, my heart was pumping.”During the disaster, he spent more than five hours inhaling smoke inside his 10th floor flat and as he made his way down the block’s stairs to the exit.
“He doesn’t really go very often because it really brings back too many negative memories for him,” Mr Roncolato said. “It’s really hitting him harder than me at times towards this time of the year, but obviously he has his own thoughts and his own way of paying respects and thinking about the others.”
