As well an increases to the maintenance grant, there has also been a €1,000 cut to the student contribution. SUSI will pay the applicable rate to colleges on behalf of students who have been awarded 100% student contribution. For students awarded the €500 student contribution, the reduction will mean that the balance they pay to their college will be €1,500 for the 2023/24 academic year.
