A new Pay-Related Jobseeker's Benefit will come into effect from March 31st, 2025, providing a payment directly linked to previous earnings for those who lose their jobs. The benefit is for individuals who have paid enough pay-related social insurance (PRSI) contributions.
Thousands will be able to claim a brand new social welfare payment of up to €450 a week within months.
Jobseeker’s Pay-Related Benefit means that the amount of benefit a person may get when they become unemployed will be directly linked to their previous earnings. According to Gov.ie, to qualify for Jobseeker’s Pay-Related Benefit, you must satisfy three main PRSI contribution conditions.
