It sucks—not in the way it's supposed to.

The small white cube is easy to use out of the box. Press a button on the side and the machine gently buzzes to life in your hand. You’re meant to move it around your counter or desktop so the mini fan inside can suck up debris through the small hole at the bottom of the machine.

I crumbled some potato chips on top of my kitchen counter and set to work with the vacuum. At first, I heard the satisfying crunch of some chip bits getting sucked up, but after a few runs over the mess with the mini-vacuum, quite a few crumbs were still left. I also noticed it appeared to have extra trouble with some of the larger pieces.

Feeling dejected, I rewatched a few of the TikToks about the vacuum and read some of the product’s reviews on Amazon. Everyone else seemed to have great things to say about this little machine. MaybeI gave the vacuum a few more tries after that. On the second attempt, I ripped some paper and scattered it across my desktop. At first the result was the same as with the chip crumbs—some pieces got swept up, but a lot didn’t.

The best way to make the machine work is to center it right over your debris or move it around in circles, as opposed to swiping in large brushstrokes and letting the bristles push things together into piles too big to vacuum. It doeswork and could be good for someone prone to spilling espresso grounds and spices particularly, but it’s inefficient when it comes to large cleanups.the best solution for constant counter cleanup? Unfortunately there’s no silver bullet.
