A trainee Garda was arrested for allegedly stealing a wallet from a victim of crime while taking a statement at a home, The Irish Mirror can reveal.
A garda spokesperson confirmed that it is investigating the circumstances of a theft that is alleged to have occurred in a domestic residence. The probe is into allegations that former members of a certain unit in the Dublin area extorted money from civilians. The man, who left the force in recent years, was arrested earlier this week, before being questioned. He was later released without charge.
