Thirteen-year-old springer spaniel Diesel, who worked for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, has passed away
Tributes are pouring in for an award-winning search and rescue dog that has sadly passed away. Thirteen-year-old springer spaniel Diesel, who works for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, has spent time rescuing people after earthquakes in New Zealand and Nepal.
Diesel was recognised for his contribution to both the SFRS and the UK International Search and Rescue team. But tonight, a statement was posted on social media informing everyone that he was put to sleep. "He is at peace now but his memory will live on from what he has done for SFRS & UK ISAR. Stand down Diesel boy your work is done. Sleep well."
One person wrote: "So sad. Play happily over the rainbow bridge Diesel, beautiful boy. Sending love and hugs to all who knew and worked with you."
