A young mum-of-two from Co Offaly has been remembered as a 'warm, intelligent and gracious friend and neighbour' after she passed away last week following a long illness.
Tributes are being paid to a young mum-of-two from Co Offaly who passed away last week after battling 'a long illness'. Ruth Higgins, originally from Castlebar in Co Mayo, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 3. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank, and her two children, as well as her mother, sisters and brothers.
Ruth's husband Frank serves as Registrar and was the former Chairperson for Offaly Camogie, with a spokesperson for the association leading the tributes to the popular mum-of-two. Our sincerest condolences to our Registrar, Frank Higgins on the passing of his wife Ruth, they said in a statement. 'Ar dheis de go raibh a hAnam dilis.' Birr Camogie Club also paid tribute to Ruth in a message which read: 'It is with great sadness and affection that the club has heard of the passing of Ruth Higgins. On behalf of Birr Camogie Club we would like to express our deepest sympathies to our club secretary Frank Higgins on the passing of Ruth. Deepest sympathies to her daughter Wren a former Birr camogie player and their son Orey. May her kind gentle soul rest in peace.' A number of Ruth's friends and family also paid heartbreaking tributes to the Mayo-born mum, who was remembered as 'a warm, intelligent and gracious friend and neighbour.' 'To All the Bennett Family.
