Tributes are being paid to Sean Brady (87) from Corlurgan, Cavan Town, co. Cavan who died in a car collision on Christmas morning. The accident happened on the N55 at Clarebane at approximately 12:40am involving two cars. Mr Brady was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Cavan General Hospital for a post mortem. Locals described Mr Brady as one of life’s great characters. One local wrote 'Sincere sympathy on Sean's tragic passing. From all in Positive Age.

Local TD for Cavan/Monaghan Niamh Symth also expressed her ‘’sincere sympathy to the family’’. Mr Brady is predeceased by his wife Mary. The four occupants of the second car were all taken to Cavan General Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. His remains will repose at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan , on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 7.30pm. Removal from the McMahon Funeral Home on Wednesday morning to the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim, Cavan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass the cortege will travel to St. Brigid's Cemetery, Killygarry for committal prayers and burial in the family plot. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. They are asking any road users who may have camera footage (including Dash-cam) who were travel-ling on the N55 be-tween 12:15am and 12:45am to make this footage availabl
