A fire at the Imperial Blue restaurant in Castlebar, Mayo, Ireland, on Sunday evening resulted in two men being hospitalized with injuries. Authorities suspect a gas explosion may have ignited the blaze. Emergency services responded quickly and extinguished the fire. Gardaí are currently investigating the incident.
Gardaí and emergency services were rushed to the scene of a fire at the business premises in Castlebar , Mayo at around 8:30pm on Sunday evening. Two men were rushed to hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Crew attached to the Mayo County Fire Service sprang into action to help bring the blaze under control, eventually extinguishing the fire without any further casualties. RTÉ reports a gas explosion may have sparked the inferno at the Imperial Blue restaurant in Castlebar, resulting in the two men, understood to be workers, being brought to hospital for treatment.They told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí responded to report of a fire at a business premises in Castlebar, Mayo yesterday, Sunday 26 January 2025 at approximately 8.30pm.
"Local fire services extinguished the fire. Two men were taken to hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing."
