The white wines from there, which can offer good value for money, are made from the chardonnay grape. Mâcon-Villages on the label means that the wine comes from one or more of 27 villages considered superior to basic Mâcon, but not quite as good as those wines with the name of the village, such as Mâcon-Lugny.
Fleurie is one of the top-10 villages of the Beaujolais region, which neighbours Mâcon. Beaujolais is a juicy, fruity wine with very light tannins. The grape variety here is gamay.Fresh orchard fruits; green apples and pears with a crisp dry finish. You could drink this before dinner, or alongside chicken, pork or macaroni cheese.Light and refreshing with juicy plum and raspberry fruits. Try this with mixed cheese and charcuterie or creamy mushrooms on toast.
