Strong reaction from Antrim as Ulster GAA takes away their home advantage for the glamour Championship opener against All-Ireland champions Armagh.
Antrim footballers have come out fighting after Ulster GAA went against their wishes and fixed their glamour ‘home’ Ulster Championship opener with All-Ireland champions Armagh at Pairc Esler, Newry.
Antrim have received some high profile backing from former county goalkeeper and current MP, John Finucane. “Questions the integrity of the whole process of the draw and what is sacred about the GAA and the Ulster championship! Feel for the players and hope they dig in on principle alone! #Corriganornowhere."
"We will not concede our home advantage as it is our right as players and as a county. Corrigan Park is our home and we expect to play there as originally scheduled."In recent years the Antrim hurlers have played their home Leinster Round Robin games there, as well as an All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final against Cork.
"The complete 2025 Ulster Senior Football Championship programme, including throw-in times and television schedules, will be finalised in the near future."
