'He beat the hell out of the Black and Tans'

US President, Joe Biden, continued his trip around Ireland today after landing at Dublin Airport early on Wednesday, April 12, before making the trip to Louth via car as a result of the bad weather.

He had several public speaking engagements to attend today and among the many insightful comments the President made, one has resulted in a #1 trending topic on Twitter. During his remarks in Louth, he appeared to confuse the All Blacks with the Black and Tans when speaking about ex-rugby player and distant cousin Rob Kearney. The US President was paying tribute to Kearney when he thanked him for the tie he was wearing and referenced the match at Soldier Field in Chicago against the New Zealand All Blacks."He beat the hell out of the Black and Tans."

Immediately, clips of that line flooded Twitter, and many people have been left in stitches by the blunder. One person commented: "I thought I was hearing things when he said that. I then turned to ABC News where the newsreader was in the middle of saying ‘The White House has reiterated that Pres. Biden is not anti-British’."A third said: "A fantastic Freudian slip. Good lad Joe."
