The woman's death remains unexplained

A ferocious fight erupted on a ferry in Wexford on Tuesday evening after a woman was found dead in a toilet. Gardai have said they are investigating "all the circumstances" surrounding the woman's death.

The deceased woman was discovered aboard the Stena Nordica, which pulled into Rosslare Europort around half five in the evening. The emergency crew and gardai got wind of the situation just after 5pm and boarded the ship, which stayed put in the Wexford harbour overnight. A witness described the scene as "extremely shocking" after a suspected fight broke out among a group of people on the ferry. Gardai confirmed that a crime scene had been established, with a spokesperson stating, "A crime scene has been declared. While gardai conduct enquiries on board, there are no public safety issues at this time."The Garda spokesperson added, "The scene has been preserved for technical and forensic examination.
