Cork County Fire Service fire engines rushed to the scene at Jameson Distillery in Midleton after smoke was spotted billowing from one of the buildings
Firefighters in Cork have been rushed to the site of an incident at the Jameson Distillery in Midleton on Wednesday evening, as smoke was spotted billowing from one of the buildings.
Fire engines attached to Cork County Fire Service were seen entering the main gates of the distillery at around 7:45pm this evening, with a number of alarms sounding as smoke poured from one of the smaller buildings on the grounds, CorkBeo reports. Firefighters in the brigade spent a period of time gaining access to the blaze via a grate, which can be seen in the video above. The Midleton Distillery Experience shuts its doors to the public at 6pm.Firefighters were previously called to the distillery in 2015, when a small fire broke out at the visitors' centre. On that occasion, which occurred at around 10am in the morning, visitors were evacuated while fire crews brought the flames under control.
