A well-known Irish celebrity has been sent for trial for the defilement of a child under 17. The man, aged in his 30s, cannot be named due to legal reasons.

He has been charged with offenses that are alleged to have taken place in Dublin between 12 and 13 years ago with a child under the age of 17, The Independent reports.The celebrity has surrendered his passport to Gardaí. He has to give them his number, as well as any change of address.
