The much-loved community pub was boarded-up and has remain closed and disused for several months
The mystery around a much-loved Merseyside community pub seems to have been solved after new plans were submitted to transform the property. The Merton Inn on the junction of Stanley Road in Bootle , has been boarded up for several months, prompting much speculation around its future use. The property has changed hands a number of times over the years and was once host to a Wetherspoon pub.
However, new planning proposals submitted to Sefton Council reveal what the Merton's owners plan to do with the former pub which has served the community since the 1970s. The planning application was completed by the company, AK Innovative Design Solution Ltd and uploaded onto the local authority's planning portal last week.
