The queue of fans, snaking around nearby fields, is traditionally one of the event’s most famous sights. Another innovation being considered is sending alerts to spectators during a match that a better seat has become available, when people leave later in the day. The location of the physical queue will change under a planned redevelopment. The All England Lawn and Tennis Club wants expand Wimbledon into neighbouring parkland over the next eight years, adding several more courts including an 8,000-seat show court.
