The alarm was raised on Sunday morning
The woman, believed to be in her late 40s, was swimming at Lisfannon Beach in Buncrana on Sunday morning when it is suspected she had a cardiac arrest. It is understood the casualty was from the local area.
and it is believed a qualified nurse and consultant doctor were both on the beach at the time and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation .Emergency services including Rescue 118 helicopter, Greencastle Coast Guard and Buncrana Fire Services as well as the ambulance service were called to the scene and they continued efforts to resuscitate the woman.
Crews from Rescue 118 then transferred the woman to Letterkenny Hospital where she later passed away.Join our new WhatsApp community!
