Glasgow World Cycling Championships branded 'unmissable' as residents told to line streets
The UCI World Cycling Championships is coming to Glasgow in days and residents have been told "don't miss this oppurtunity" as the 11-day competition makes its way to the city.
She told Glasgow Live: "It feels good and I feel very proud of what we have been able to do to create this brand new event. It hasn’t been done before and we are ready to go. "We hope it brings people together. Community is really important. This can’t be done without the community supporting it and getting behind it.The Championships will be held in up to 10 venues and locations in Glasgow and across Scotland, bringing positive impacts and benefits to the whole country.
"The cycling championships is a very positive thing that is happening in Glasgow. It will increase the amount of people cycling." A total of 60 businesses across Glasgow, including the Emirates Arena, are uniting to repurpose an estimated 8.5 tonnes of ground coffee during the UCI Cycling World Championships.
