A video emerged of Wynne Evans making the sexual comment to a co-star at the launch of the tour in Birmingham
Wynne Evans has been dramatically dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour after a distasteful video surfaced showing him making degrading sexual comments to co-star Janette Manrara at the tour launch in Birmingham.
In response to the backlash, Evans gave a statement to the Mirror, admitting: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise." Despite being spotted with the cast en route to Liverpool, having missed the Glasgow appearances due to injury, reports say he will no longer take part in the tour.
The bosses, it seems, were appeased by Evans' apology but evidently, it didn't suffice in keeping him on board. "As soon as they were alerted to the remarks, tour producers called a meeting with Wynne," an insider told The Sun. Mental health support is reportedly being provided to Evans, who previously attracted criticism for seemingly touching his dance partner, Katya Jones, improperly live on the BBC show. The pair subsequently explained that it was an "inside joke", and Katya came to Evans’ defence.
Details emerged from a source close to Wynne, saying that the joke was self-deprecating and part of a private chat with a make-up artist. Despite there being at least one other person present during the conversation, it's claimed that the make-up artist took no offence.
