BREAKING - The passenger was killed and the driver fled the scene
The crash involving a car and a truck happened at around 10.50pm on Tuesday night on the R403 road in Celbridge.
There were two people in the car when the collision occurred - a male passenger and the driver of the car who fled the scene.The passenger, a man aged in his 20s, was fatally injured in the crash. The driver of the truck, aged in his 30s, was uninjured. Gardai are appealing for witnesses or people who were in the area and may have dashcam footage to come foreword.
"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Tuesday night, 18th July 2023 on the R403 in Celbridge, Co .Kildare."A passenger from the car, a man in his 20s, was fatally injured. The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene."The scene was preserved to allow for a technical examination, which was conducted this morning. The road has now reopened.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda station on 01 666 7800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
