Former Waterford hurler Tony Browne joins Ken McGrath's under-20 management team, bringing experience and leadership after a successful stint with Tipperary.
Tony Browne is back in the Waterford hurling system after linking up with Ken McGrath’s under-20 management team. Browne has just finished a two-year stint under Liam Cahill in the Tipperary senior set-up having previously been involved with Cahill during the last of his three years in charge of Waterford in 2022. But McGrath has wasted no time in snapping him up after it emerged that Dan Shanahan would be joining new senior boss Peter Queally’s management team.
Waterford have struggled at underage level in recent years and McGrath endured a difficult first season at the helm of the under-20s as they lost each of their four Munster Championship games. All of the management are former Waterford teammates of Browne’s, with Andy Moloney and Kevin Moran also involved under McGrath. Elsewhere, James O’Connor will continue as Waterford minor hurling manager for another year. In football, Paul Power has stepped up from the minor job to under-20, while Eddie Mulligan will replace him at the helm of the under-17s.
