The Hornets boss described the Colombian youngster's performance as 'really promising' in last night's draw watfordfc
He may be only 18 and was making his first start in English football but Yaser Asprilla’s performance was one of the more impressive during Watford’s 1-1 draw at Birmingham City last night.
The Colombian’s inclusion in the starting XI may have surprised some after he only came off the bench to make his debut during Friday night’s 1-0 victory over Burnley. But the teenager justified Rob Edwards’ faith with a hard-working display that demonstrated his ability with some good touches on the ball and his awareness, none more so than when he played a one-two on the turn with Mario Gaspar that enabled the Spaniard to provide the cross which ultimately led to the Hornets’ equaliser.
The Watford head coach described Asprilla’s full debut as “really promising” and said: “I thought he showed great character, belief, really good bits of quality at times. I like that he almost plays with such freedom. He was a real plus and involved with the goal.”
