Goodwin believes the Tannadice club remain one of the top clubs in the country and they will be returning in a stronger position
Jim Goodwin thinks the Scottish Premiership will be a much better place with Dundee United back in it next season. United can officially seal their return at Airdrie on Friday night, but their superior goal difference means they are already all but assured of their return to the top-flight.
"In terms of facilities, infrastructure, fanbase; the top-flight is where this club belongs – and we need to learn from mistakes of the past and ensure we don't do the same thing again and we won't. We are possibly in a better, healthier position going into the Premiership than what we were previously. We've balanced the books but will have a competitive budget and I think we'll prove a very attractive proposition for players who want to come and play in Scotland.
The former Aberdeen and St Mirren boss confirmed: “We are in a good position, and I believe we are a very attractive proposition now that we are back in the Premiership “Recruitment was difficult last summer because players want to play at the highest level possible and some of those we targeted had options in the league above or in more competitive leagues in England. We've done a lot of hard work already.
A large bulk of the United squad is also out of contract in the summer and Goodwin will give them answers on their futures in the next couple of weeks. He explained: “They'll all be keen to know what is happening with their futures and I'm not one for dragging these things out.
