There were huge celebrations at National Lottery HQ on Thursday as a number of Lotto winners dropped in to collect life-changing prizes.
One family member revealed that their wife originally thought they had nabbed a six-figure prize in the Lotto draw, and were left stunned after learning that they had in fact landed the whopping €2.2 million jackpot. Scanning through the numbers, “I think we’ve won €100,000”, she exclaimed. He laughed and replied: “You’ve won a lot more than €100,000”, realising they had secured the top prize of €2,274,988. The family called an immediate meeting to share the incredible news and celebrated through the weekend.
One of the syndicated members revealed that they have a lengthy shop queue to thank for their life-changing win. “I was in a different shop, and three people were ahead of me, taking their time buying Lottery tickets," they recalled. The syndicate members are already putting their winnings to good use as they celebrated their visit to Lotto HQ by treating themselves to a stay at a five-star hotel. They’re hoping to put the rest of their newfound fortunes towards looking after their family and loved ones, along with a cruise in the future.
