Members of the government have confirmed that a rise to the monthly rate of Child Benefit will be announced in the upcoming budget - but it could be as much as €20 a month

The budget is just over two weeks away, with the government beginning to nail down the measures they plan on rolling out.

Now, it has been revealed that the rise could be as much as €20 a month, leading to an annual boost of €1,040. It comes as the Minister has already confirmed that parents are likely to receive a double Child Benefit payment before Christmas as part of Budget 2025.“In terms of child benefit, we did have a double payment last year and I know that was very, very popular in the run up to Christmas because while inflation has dropped, it is still expensive," said Minister Humphreys.
