Ireland is set to experience cold, rainy, and windy weather for the next week, according to Met Éireann. Temperatures will remain low, with highs ranging from 3 to 8 degrees Celsius. Bundle up and prepare for a chilly week ahead!
Despite the fact that February is often considered the start of spring, the weather certainly doesn't reflect that yet! The wind has been biting lately, and combined with the cold rain, it feels like winter is far from over. Met Éireann forecasts cold, rainy, and windy weather for the next week, so make sure to bundle up! Today will be cold and mostly cloudy, but some bright or sunny spells are expected, mainly in the northwest and parts of the west.
It'll be dry in most areas, with just a little patchy light rain and drizzle, mainly concentrated in the northeast and along eastern and southern coasts. The highest temperatures will range between 5 to 8 degrees. Overnight, cloud cover will dominate most areas, but there will be some clear spells, especially in the northwest and west. A little rain and drizzle is predicted for the east and south, but it will remain dry elsewhere. There's a possibility of a few isolated mist patches under any clearer spells. The lowest temperatures will be between 0 to +5 degrees in light to moderate northeast winds, which will be fresher at times along the east coast. A touch of frost is possible in sheltered parts of the west and northwest. Monday will be cold and breezy with a good deal of cloud overall. However, there will be some limited bright or sunny spells in the north and west. Some scattered showers are expected mainly in the east during the morning, but they will spread further westwards throughout the day, with a touch of wintriness later, especially over higher ground in the east. Overall, there'll still be plenty of dry weather, especially further west. Highest temperatures will be between 4 to 7 degrees. Tuesday will be cloudy with scattered patches of light rain and drizzle. More persistent rain may move in to affect southern and southwestern coastal areas during the afternoon. Maximum temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees are expected in moderate to fresh east to southeast winds. On Tuesday night, outbreaks of rain are expected to spread across many areas but may hold dry in the northeast of the country. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees generally, but a few degrees milder along the south coast. There'll be a moderate to fresh and gusty southeast breeze. Wednesday will again be breezy and mostly cloudy, with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. There is a chance of some wintry falls over the hills. Highest temperatures will be between 4 to 8 degrees, coldest across northern counties with a fresh southeast breeze. That night will remain cold but the extensive cloud cover should diminish the risk of any significant frost. Lowest temperatures will be between 1 to 5 degrees in moderate southeast winds. Thursday is cloudy and breezy with outbreaks of rain in the south and west expected. It will be drier further north and east. Another rather cold day with highest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees with fresh and gusty southeast winds
