Derry City are hoping to build their own training base but will use Derry GAA's for the foreseeable future

The GAA today gave Derry City the green light to use Owenbeg Centre of Excellence as their temporary training headquarters ahead of the new League of Ireland season.

Speaking to the Derry Journal today, new Derry City boss Tiernan Lynch said: “It’s unbelievable. I think it’s going to make a massive difference to us.” Derry City are still planning to build their own training centre and stepped up efforts before Chritsmas to identify the ideal location. At that time, club chief executive Sean Barrett said the club would need to find a temporary training base for up to two years.
