The Today Show presenter told how St. Patrick’s Day is a “very special occasion” in their house, with it being his son Mícheál Óg’s birthday - and the parade in Dublin is their big tradition

Dáithí Ó Sé has told how there’s “something really special” about getting to be a part of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

And with it set to be bigger and better than ever, Dáithí told Chic how he’s “really looking forward” to being a part of this year’s celebrations. “That continued last year. And it started a week or two earlier this year, for us to be getting ready to go. It’s just a really good place for us to be.” Dáithí added that getting to interview the President is “a treat”, as he shared some his favourite parts about the day.

“Ogie gets to go to the parade in Dublin again for his birthday this year, and he really likes that, as well — he can go under the barriers when the parade is over, he can see what it’s like, as well.“The thing that I like about the parade is that it’s over early — it’s over at half one, two o’clock — and then you have the rest of the day to do as you please. Last year, I think we went off to the zoo. That was a really nice occasion, as well.

“I’ve been minding myself, I’ve been going to the gym since the start of the new year — maybe around three or four times a week. “I came across this course, it’s a Professional Diploma in coaching and mentoring. It's something that really, really appealed to me.
