Daniel Kinahan will learn within months whether he will be charged with the 2016 murder of Eddie Hutch, as the DPP reviews evidence and considers charging up to 10 suspects.
Cartel boss Daniel Kinahan will learn in months if he is to be charged with the murder of a brother of Gerry “the Monk” Hutch, it has emerged.
We revealed last year that officers sent their investigative file to the DPP – with a recommendation that Kinahan be charged with murder. Gardai finished their probe into the Eddie Hutch killing last year and are now awaiting the decision from the DPP, Wednesday’s inquest heard. He told the coroner, Clare Keane, that he was hopeful that directions would be received from the DPP within the next six months.
Dr Keane granted the application by Det Insp McKevitt for an adjournment of the inquest under Section 25 of the Coroners Act on the basis that criminal proceedings are being considered and listed the case for further mention to September 17.
