The former Roscommon boss's future with Mayo was finally confirmed some three months after their All-Ireland SFC exit
Kevin McStay will continue as Mayo manager in 2025 after meeting with players and county board officials over the weekend.
“Mayo GAA have concluded their annual end of year review with the Mayo senior football management team and would like to confirm that Kevin McStay will continue as the manager of the Mayo senior football team for 2025,” read a statement. "The Mayo GAA Coiste Bainistí would like to wish the players and the management team all the very best of luck for 2025.
It was a similar tale this year as they were pipped by Galway in the Connacht final and though they very nearly Dublin before settling for a draw in the All-Ireland group stage, Derry knocked them out on penalties six days later.
