A man in his 70s was shot five times during a home invasion in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. Police are appealing for information after the incident in Ballygallin Park. The victim was treated in hospital for injuries to his arm, legs, head, and torso, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police in Derry have issued an appeal for information after a reported shooting incident yesterday evening, Thursday January 30.

The victim, aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital for treatment and it was then that it was established that he had sustained a number of wounds consistent with a shooting. The PSNI confirmed that he had been shot five times in the arm and legs, while he also suffered injuries to his head and torso.Detective Inspector Lavery said: "It's absolutely appalling that an elderly person should be attacked in their own home in this way.

"If you saw or heard anything suspicious, or have CCTV or other footage which could assist our investigation, please call our detectives can be contacted on 101, quoting reference number 1450 of 30/01/25."
