It hasn’t been a great start to the summer, with much of May and June taken over by rain-filled days and colder temperatures, but the national forecaster sees a change ahead
The exact day that the rainy weather will slow down has been pinpointed as Met Eireann looked at the end of June and the beginning of July.

“Lower than average precipitation is indicated for the western half of the country with average precipitation expected in the east. No hazardous weather is indicated,” Met.ie said. Becoming overcast tonight as rain spreads eastwards across the country, turning heavy at times in the west and southwest. Much of the east and northeast will stay dry until morning. Turning breezy too as southerly winds increase moderate to fresh with the rain. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.
Friday, 14 June Showers will become widespread and heavy early on Friday, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms and hail. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds.
