It seems weather models were a bit premature in predicting a sunshine extravaganza this week
Talk of a June heatwave has been put on hold as Met Éireann has confirmed the onset of an "unsettled" weather period and when to expect it.
However, weather models now appear to have kicked that can down the road a bit, and the national forecaster has revealed just when we can instead expect a heavy rain event in parts of the country. It confirmed that this coming Thursday is set to be overcast with "wet and unsettled" conditions, with the likelihood of "heavy" rain.
