Two Status Yellow rain warnings have been issued for a number of southern and eastern counties.

A warning for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford came into effect at midnight and will remain in place until midnight tonight.Met Éireann said there will be heavy rain at times and is warning of flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions in affected counties.

Dungarvan saw 50.5mm of rain between midnight and 3 o'clock this afternoon, with 30.8mm falling in Youghal and 28.4mm in Waterford city.Drivers are urged to take care on the Dunmore Road from Waterford city to Dunmore East, where there is spot flooding in parts due to overwhelmed gullies.
