Police made an arrest after a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene
A house was pictured with a broken window as forensics combed through the south Manchester property. Police have launched a murder investigation after a man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead in the early hours of Sunday morning .
One man who lives on Winterford Avenue added: “Being in his 50s - that is just no age to die. How very sad. I saw the police yesterday when I was heading to the shops and couldn’t believe they were still here today." The murder investigation is still very much ongoing, with detectives from Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team continuing to conduct enquiries. Police have said there will be an increased number of officers patrolling the locality over the coming days. Door to door enquiries have also been carried out.
