Burns and Ulster GAA representatives met with a Sinn Fein delegation, including Michelle O'Neill, in a bid to get the much delayed Belfast ground rebuild up and running

GAA President Jarlath Burns believes it would take around €310m to redevelop Casement Park - and he wants the UK Government to pledge their financial commitment to a rebuild.

The GAA has pledged to contribute €15m and it is believed the Irish Government will provide €50m towards the long-running plan to redevelop that has been in the works for over a decade, with the Stormont Executive committing to the project in 2011. Burns and senior Ulster GAA figures met with Sinn Féin representatives in Stormont yesterday, including the party's vice president Michelle O'Neill, on the issue on Tuesday.

"We think we can build it for around £260 million ," Burns said. "That figure is a figure that has been given to the minister, including all the contingencies and unforeseen circumstances that might arise. We remain very, very committed to Casement Park being built, to becoming the stadium for Gaelic Games in Ulster.
